1/96 Atlas V/MAVEN

Gang,

Here's my first take on Alfonso 1/96 Atlas V -- the MAVEN Mars spacecraft launch vehicle.

Alfonso designed the MAVEN kit in 1/144, so I used the generic 1/96 common core booster parts and enlarged the MAVEN-specific parts. I printed the common core booster pieces on silver metallic paper, which yielded a finish close to the real thing. I added a few tiny plastic triangles to the mid section and scratchbuilt the long white connector jutting from the shroud from styrene as well.

No noteworthy fit problem, although it took me five tried before I got the fuel line on the right rolled to my satisfaction. A most excellent model!

Excellant job with this kit.Although I may suggest to help with your fuel line problems try BBQ skewers they work great helping me.

Very nice work. I printed my common core booster on some Wausau metallic copper paper and it came out well also.
