If I remember correctly, I used the bottom conic of the Little Joe III and cut it so that it was a pointed cone instead of a truncated cone. I then trimmed the tip until it fit around the tower.

Go to..Orion | NASA

For the orion flight test media press kit in pdf form on the left lower, page 17 for a picture of the orion capsule before the white shield of the abort rocket system is installed. Its all black covered in ceramic tiles on the upper conic section down to the heat shield. Interesting how its described as the same ceramic tiles that covered the bottom of the orbiters.

AFAIK there's not. But the best one available by far is Mark Cable's one over at Ecardmodels. And really, for those lousy 6 dollars you get one beautiful rocket!

As was mentioned earlier in this thread, the free one is 1/200 scale and is at Jleslies web site The Lower Hudson Valley Paper Model E-Gift Shop - Gallery Models

I recently bought mark cables, 1/96 version at ecards along with a few others. Havent printed the Delta IV Heavy yet but it looks good on the computer screen!

I was up at 4:00am watching the launch until it was obvious it wasnt going anywhere....then went in late to work!
Oh well, maybe tomorrow?

I have been at home all day with a huge head cold that has ground me to a hold and kept me from doing productive stuff. I was thoroughly disappointed when they had abort after abort and finally had that scrub.
I know, safety first and all that, but how is it that the Russians are able to launch in a screaming blizzard while NASA calls it all off when an alligator farts somewhere back in the Everglades?
Man, I just really wanted to see those candles lit today.

Probably the DeltaIV has cought a cold in the windy weather? Nothing human is strange to that machine with character... ;-))

But as I understood there was too bad weather on the supposed landing site in the Ocean. At the Cape the fumes were not blown away at big speed.

Next try tomorrow.
