Delta 7 1:96 Mercury Redstone

Hello all,

I am a newbie on these here forums and a newbie to the world of paper modeling as well. I have built 2 paper models so far including this Mercury Redstone (the free one at Delta 7). I have some experience with plastic models and model rockets, so maybe I have a jump on other newbies, but I absolutely am hooked on paper modeling. Anyway, here a few photos of the Redstone. I know it's nothing compared with some of the models I've seen posted here but I guess I gotta start somewhere and I thought this would be a good place.

Now I hope to go on to build the major manned launch vehicles in historical order but it seems I'm already stumped at the Mercury Atlas. does anyone know of a good quality (preferably free) Mercury Atlas model in 1:96 (or 1:48 that I can scale down)?

Not that I can find...but maybe I'm overlooking it. They have a nice Gemini Titan II but I haven't found the Atlas. If you happen to find it, please post a linky. Thanks.

Ther used to be a Mercury Atlas model on Precision Paper Space Models (http://www76.pair.com/tjohnson/ppsm.html). That site disappeared two or three years ago, but can still be found on the Wayback Machine, http://www.archive.org/. Just plug the URL above into the search box, then select the most recent version presented.

It is a fairly simple model, but may meet your needs.

Direct access here

I followed Alan's directions, and it really worked. Amazing, being able to give extinct pages a new life. So, no reason not to publish the direct links here:

Main page: Precision Paper Space Models

Mercury/Atlas page: Precision Paper Space Models: Mercury Atlas

Also, no reason not to supply the Atlas/Mercury model here, see attachments.

You should probably forage the site as long as it lasts in this second life!

Good luck!

Leif

Wow, you guys are awesome! I was so disappointed to find that the PPSM site was dead. I can't wait to try this build! If I'm successful, I'll of course post pics. This forum is turning out to be eveything I hoped for. Thanks again!

The models themselves are very basic. I may try and spruce them up a bit with some more detailed skins.

I went ahead and downloaded the Gemini Titan II while I was there.
