Model of Metop now available.

Hello group,

With great pride I announce my newest model: Metop.

It was a tremendous job to design this model. Even Eumetsat themselves could not provide me with all of the drawings that I needed,
so I had to extract many sizes from a rather large amount (fortunately) of pictures I could find and from some that were send to me.

I knew this one wouldn't be easy, but I think I pulled it off. Once built, the model looks quite nice, if I say so myself.

This model has a fair amount of small parts, therefor MANY spare parts were added to the sheets. I think many modelers who will
try to build this one will thank me for it, soon enough....!! |-)
Because this model would be too difficult for beginners, I advised Eumetsat to have a second, much easier kit to be made. Still not an easy
kit, but at least many of all the small parts have been omitted.
Both are now available from Eumetsat's website. Click on the red circle (spacecraft), then scroll down.
Click on the model of your choice. Two symbols will appear: a link chain and a magnifying glass. Click on the link to continue.
The fourth model, Meteosat 7, will be available, too. However, it can also be downloaded from my own website. The models on
Learning Zone only have different logos added.

One of my rewards for making these models is an invitation to the headquarters of Eumetsat, in July. By then, Meteosat 11 will
be launched and I am invited to go to Darmstadt, Germany. Pictures of that visit will be uploaded to my website, afterwards.

Here is my website :
www.ariespapermodels.nl

For those of you who need a direct link:
Welcome to the EUMETSAT Learning Zone

I would like to know who will actually build the model and I am looking forward to seeing the pictures of the build process.
If you need help, I am only a few key strokes away...!!!!

I've downloaded it (also got your Ariane 6). Then I found out my black printer cartridge is too low to print. :(

But I'll see what I can do. Alphonso's Hermes is on the building room floor (cutting mat). I'll see if I'm up to Metop soon after she's done.

BTW, the site is actually "ariespapermodels.nl"

Erik left off an "s" in the post above, so the link doesn't work (at least for me). I already had the correct address bookmarked.

D**n.... in my rush I forgot the 's' ...!!!
Thanks Les.

And WHY does this forum not allow me to make changes. EVERY other forum allows the author to make changes.
They have no time limits. Even years later you can add things or change your post.
But not this forum......I REALLY HATE this.
Now this post will be flawed forever.
Who do I contact to set this right ?

Easy enough to work around. Just add an s to the end of ariespapermodel in the address bar on the Problem loading page/Server not found page that the link takes you to, then mash the Enter key.

Robert: thanks, the link now works correctly. Thanks for editing the post.
I read the post from Jason and I understand, but if it were possible to increase edit time to one day, it would be nice.
If someone tells me the link isn't working, or if I find out myself, this usually happens within a day, giving me enough
time to correct the error. One hour isn't enough. Hopefully the moderators will think it over, one more time...??!!

Wim and others : thank you all for the compliments. Tell everyone else to download the model, make as many hits as possible.
I want to do more business with Eumetsat, but that depends on the amount of interest in the models.

And I shall take more time carefooly raeding my mesages bee4 I hit teh
summit replay buton !!
I promes.

Well.....let me see........
I believe you will find the answer on page two of the instructions. ;-)

Shouldn't that be the FIRST thing to do...?? To read the instructions?? Before you begin? ;-)

I used to be like that, too. "If all else fails, read the instructions!"
Yeah, I know the feeling....... |-)
