Ken's Apollo CM

So, now I can start the building report after the end of our content.
The story is known, so I don't need to tell the prehistory.

First I made up my mind the heat shield.
The variant without glue flaps is not good. So I printed in gray again everything on thin paper (100g).
Also all over again in black for the inside ...
Outwardly, I realized that the rings did not fit properly so. Had to re-dyeing something.
Ken has apparently corrected by overpaint. Well.
That's why I all over again printed and pasted over and now it fits fairly well.
3x 250 g give a decent strength, too.
Actually, that was just a test build, but it looks quite good, so I'll leave it.
A Frisby disc can still be ....: thumbup:
To shoot down there is the inner ring on the heat shield ...

Next, here's the back division. Here actually fit quite well.
I raised three printouts, one original, one thin paper for adhesive flaps, once black interior.
Everything together is a fairly stable structure.
The salad bowl suits well to the Frisbie disc.
Now it comes to the decoration of the bowl.

The salad bowl was awarded the top end ....
Since the ring is glued blunt, I have grown a reinforced cardboard support ring made of black construction paper, so that all can adhere well.
Now it goes to the small parts. The parts 2B are 20 times produced 2c four times.
The first is demonstrated here.
I had no problems, it all fits very well.
The small parts are finished manufactured and assembled. Everything is quite easy.
However, I have the parts largely provided with glue flaps and made small frames also for cylindrical parts, so that assembly was a little easier.
Now I know really no name for the individual components, so I round that in no particular order of Section 1 - adjusting 4.
The first section, in this case the section. 3

What a great build thread. Very detailed photographic instructions. This will come in real handy if/when I get to build this masterpiece.

Thank you for the nice words!

Now the crew module's turn, first the outer parts.
Or it will be a lampshade when it goes wrong ...: D

I have re-printed to reinforce everything twice, once at 250 g / ² smoothed and even to 160 g / m² cardboard mill finished. The stronger parts outward.
The parts of the front row, I rings directly above one another glued while the teeth formed from the inner part. The lower ring parts are then directly to the teeth of the upper and then from the inside again reinforced ...

The next is the opening for the Space Sextant (STX) and the scanning telescope......
The windows are relatively easy to build. Ever so far everything fits together quite well.
Now, the struts must be cultivated. Since they are relatively narrow, it is not so easy to bend them. I inserted as support 1.5 mm wire, which gives good stiffness.
Thus, the outer skin of the inner part is done fairly quickly.

It continues with the inner parts of the cabin crew.
The edges and surfaces around the windows need to be well-colored black, as some distance betw. Internally and externally and to otherwise unsightly white spots seen.
Otherwise, everything is proceeding smoothly and quickly. The small box above the window I build not one, here later to go two LED for illumination, as Billy has also realized.
Next is the "Lower Equipment" turn.
For this, the framework is manufactured only once. I would also like to highlight the module, a chamber for opening is created, and drilled some holes to perform the cable.
The bottom and sides are pasted over with black construction paper, I've since thought of Billy connected, it looks gray not look good.
Also, I have restored glue flaps, the blunt sticking is not my thing.
Incidentally, it should be noted that the model and the description of the construction of Ken comply, Billy has some modifications and tuning carried out, that enhance the model.
What I take them, I am still not clear, but in any case the lighting.

Now it goes on,
The bottom part, I could complete and finish.
I also have the wires for the LED already used. The finished and built base plate is okay.
Next, the lateral equipment are manufactured.
