More on InSight Mars mission news

I was reading about the next mission to mars with the InSight spacecraft snd saw that it will be accompanied by two CubeSats called MarCo CubeSats that Will add an experimental data relay capability to give ground controllers news about the landing’s (InSight) outcome.

This will mark the first time that a cubesat will fly into deepspace.

You can read more about this...Two ‘microprobes’ to accompany InSight lander to Mars | Spaceflight Now.

Cubesats

So, while we keep looking for better info on the INSIGHT lander deck arrangement - there is a fair bit available on the MarCo radio relays. Put a quarter scale draft up in the downloads. Just finished drawing so let me know if you have building problems.
Went with the quarter scale since the half scale parts just run off the edges of a letter-sized sheet.

Thank you, that was a quick release of the model.

MarCo relay draft build

I just finished doing a quick build on the Marco radio relay CubeSat.
I had no problems with the build, looking forward for the final release.

Here are some pictures to look at if you like.

Thank you
Glenn

InSight lander Science Deck pic

If you or anyone looking for a descent picture of the InSight science deck
I think I may found one.
It shows in descent detail the instruments but have no idea of what they are.

I hope this helps.

Picture is below...

Nicely done, Glenn! I assume you reinforced the struts for the UHF antenna on the bottom - I'd assumed the material inside would be retained but it looks better the way you've done it.

I did reinforced the struts for the antenna and the antenna and add another layer of cardstock in to inside of the box.
