Axm's STS-135 , Stack and payload models...

This is my first thread , after being a member for a couple of years... Quick backstory... Papermodels saved my life .. I am disabled for life, and needed 11 surgeries ... I quickly became addicted to pain meds, it consumed every aspect of my daily life... I nearly lost my whole life including my wife and sons... One day my youngest son was doing a history project and he wanted to do it on the U.S. Space programs... He wanted a model so he could use it as his background display.... We did some research at the library and came across a scale modelers book... Their was a section on card models .. It had examples and some site addresses .. I found jay Leslie's site and AXM .. These were low cost and really detailed .. That was 2011... Now it has become one of my passions ... I got off the meds , and now I make these beauties and give them to friends and kids ... People like Yogi, Ton, and many others touch and inspire not only adults and enthusiasts but help families like mine.. For this I am eternally grateful...

After all that babling here is the model... What I did was printed it at 9 pages per one ... I don't know the scale but I just wanted to see if it could be done ... Here are some pics ...

I agree, that is an inspirational story! Thank you for sharing it. Glad you were able to work through it and find our hobby as therapy.

That being said, if I tried to model something in that small a scale I'd probably be looking at therapy myself! That is some excellent work, lots of detail in a very small area. I'll be watching to see what's next.

To chmilestones,

Thanks for sharing your story my friend. It is very inspirational, indeed. It makes me very happy to know that it touched you and it helped you.
Now, when I see my paper models, I can tell others your story.
You've done an awesome job with my models. Keep it up.
