Several updates today.
I finally stopped procrastinating, and got some Aleene's Quick Dry Tacky glue. And this stuff is AWESOME! I was always scared off due to old memories of school white glue, but this stuff is great. it is more sticky, and dries faster than the stuff I was using, and sticks almost as fast as cyano-acrylate. I also figured out why I was having so many issues with paper creasing, and rolling. The 65 lb (148 gsm) paper I had gotten from staples was actually laminated thinner paper. It is very low quality, and I recommend people avoid it. I have had a great deal of luck with their 110 lb (200 gsm) in the past. Grabbed more of that, and haven't had those issues since. To celebrate I made John Jogerst's 1/144 Salyut station. (ignore the poor joints) I am playing around with what size I want to make stations in. While I would love to make the AXM ISS in 1/96 or 1/100, that might be too big. This 1/144 Salyut is a test, a rather small one at that. Now I need to decide if I should hang it, or put it on a shelf. Any comments would be appreciated. Next project is probably the Boeing Bird of Prey I got from Chris over at ecardmodels. It looks incredibly detailed, and will take quite a while. |

Starting the Bird of Prey
Frame Currently working on the cockpit, and still loving the new glue. The model could use some glue tabs though. |
