S&P Atlas 2AS in 1/288th....

I took a crack at Bruno (of Scissors & Planes fame) Atlas 2AS. He offers the model in 1/300th scale, but I enlarged it to 1/288th.

I used a cast-coated text paper by Wyndstone called "aluminum lines" for the main body. I bought some of the paper (it came in a roll) years ago and I have no idea if it is still available. The Atlas had a highly polished body so I felt it was important to replicate that as best I could. I used four other types of paper for the rest of the model.

Bruno's model provides a pretty good basis for the build, but I added a lot of scratchbuilt detail. All in all, it was a fun little build.

Thanks for the kind words. I will say (as Ray and Paper Kosmonaut and countless others have demonstrated time and again) that while working with small scales has its challenges, it can be quite fun.

I need some magnifying glasses, though....

Again super work; I don't get were the "fun" part is with the itsy-bitsy!

Nice looking Atlas....may I ask what other paper type you used to construct the model? Small and detailed = fun....fun to see what one can accomplish if one sets to such an adventure. Oh Dr, ready for my meds now (just kidding)
