In the early 30s, the German army has recruited the young Von Braun to work towards missiles.
In 1933, he designed the A1 and then the A2 of 1.60 m that performs 2 successful flights atthe end of 1934.






The A3 was build in 1935 and performs extensive testing with major stability problems to solve. It cleared the ground of the future V2 (A4).

The Thor of 1957 is a US ballistic missile medium range capable of carrying a nuclear bomb on the London-Moscow distance. It will be rolled out in Britain in 1958.
It will result in a very large family of US launchers, the Delta rockets.
