1:16 Space Shuttle Flight Deck
WOW, Tonino!
VERY, VERY nice. That flight deck seat is a true beauty! And I really like your "mini tabs" - I actually do something similar, now and then. And I also sometimes cut out more empty white space around some 'tab-less' parts, to make small tabs, where there is ample room for them. Always makes joints a bit narrower and more seamless looking, I think. Superb eye, and superb technique, and thank you so much for sharing, Bengt in Stockholm |

Thank you my friends, you all are very kind supporting my modeling joy with your appreciation. And, Phil, you made me laugh: just like you I heard the term "greebling" from other cardmodelers and I too, the first time I saw that word, had some hard time trying to find the exact meaning of it.
But, back to work: here is panel A12, another little nice piece for my aft console. |

Wow!!! This is an amazing project. So many tiny details!!! What tools did you use to assemble the tiny parts?

Only little tweezers and my BIG fingers (that very often mess up all tweezers work )
Here are two more panels to add to my aft console: A13 and A14. |

Here is last panel in lower aft console: A15. In the first image the components before folding. Before joining the adiacent boxes it's better to peel off a cardboard layer from the sides in contact or the resulting wall will be too thick (images 2 and 3).
All the parts are ready (image 4) and here is A15 (img 5). Now some preparation on the other components of the front wall... (img 6)...and, after applying all the velco patches and other little details (as the white cable holders) the lower aft console is READY!!!!! (img 7,8,9) |

Again thanks my friends for your attention and appreciation.
A little update on aft deck instrumentation. Here we start to build upper aft console, the first image is the empty base ready to accept its panels. Then you can see A6U panel and the first lot of knobs. Following A6L panel, then the joystick base where I decided to cut away the tabs to use my "microtab method" I already showed earlier in this thread. Next photo is the completed A7U and, finally, the panels glued in place. This is the actual status of the aft upper console.. |
