Travers SAR antenna. Made of unused smartphone screen protector. I know, the mesh should be white, but hey, when life gives you Trawers mesh, you don't talk back, right?

The stand

Almost there. Having put the thing together I had no means of keeping it. Had to make a stand.

This one from scratch.

Raw version.

Paint it black.

All that is left now is a Soyuz to dock in the front. Tonight, I guess.

Mir Orbital Base 1:144

OK, so, here it goes: Russian (Soviet for 1/3 of her lifetime) orbital base Mir. Papermodel in 1:144.

Model by John Jogerst, changes, additional parts (antennas, APAS docking rings, SDM frame, Kvant-2 equipment, stand) and repaints by Bartek Biedrzycki. Also used parts from ISS model by Alfonso Moreno (docking nodes for DOS and Kristall).

Assembly time: 35 hours over the course of nine days.

Wasn't the solar panel damaged before the full station was assembled?

The one on the Spektr? Yes. I was replaced then - Spektr provided half the power for Mir, so it had to work seamlesly.

Great Job on the Mir, I like what you did on the Priroda, using the Screen protector as an Antenna. In all some nice upgrades from the original. Again great job
