I saw the photo, tracing the aerials with different colors helps me to see that you are right. Looking forward to see you solution for correcting this and hopefully implement it to the model and release the updated files.

Sorry for this mistake and please excuse my lack of design skills for they are
not as advanced as every one here on the forum. It's a miracle that I was able to design all the models you see on my website.

No apology necessary. This is the first of your satellites I've built and it goes together just fine. The parts are still usable; you just need to cut the circle at the 270° point instead of 360°. I've attached a picture showing which piece needs removing.
Your design skills are a lot better than mine - I haven't designed any models. The best I've come up with is a small addition to the stand I'm putting the model on.
EDIT: The only other addition/change I would suggest is the solar cells. Put a few extras on the page as spares in case the builder loses one or two. Personal experience speaking here!

Finished the model today. Just need to add a nameplate to the stand.

Great work! I tried and failed to use curled plastic rod or wire to make the antenna, but maybe needing only a 3/4 arc will help.

Thanks Les. I modified the toothpick post by wrapping a 3mm strip of paper around it until it was the right diameter. I think a 2mm strip would be a closer to scale thickness. With the glue holding it together it was hard enough to drill holes through and I used 24 gauge jewellery/beading wire for the aerial.

Zach, if you're looking for more ideas for satellites, I'd like to see an Aussat-1.

I saw the photo with the correction, I will use this and add spare solar panels to the model like you suggested.
Hopefully, It will be completed during my fourth of July break from work.

Thank you for all you help and suggestions!

As for the Aussat-1, I was able to find 1 or 2 "ok" photos, showing basically at the same angle. If I can find several photos showing the top, bottom and sides with
good clarity, I will be able to design a model of it.

In the mean time, I'm currently designing a model of the ADM-Aeolus satellite - the first satellite ever that can measure wind profiles from space.

Forgot to add 1 more thing I did. I ran a dead biro along the grooves that are on a few of the panels to give them a sunken appearance matching the original. Very easy to do but make sure the biro truly is dead (No, not speaking from personal experience!).
