The Enterprise D in paper

I guess most of you know about or built a Metal Earth Fascinations model, well I built several for friends and decided to build one in paper! well for starters I got diverted from my bucket list of specific models to make an Enterprise D out of paper!. I photographed the original metal sheets (Metal Earth Fascinations model) printed that on inkjet silver/chrome paper (which I think is an extinct thing, I have one sheet left) and put the parts together..the whole thing is a few centimeters long...am adding a pic of the original metal one! (the one on a circular base, too "saucer heavy" an oversight by the designers which I fixed by adding a little weight in the nacelles! they should redesign the base.)

That looks great considering you did this from photos of the metal parts.

Chrome paper is expensive, but still obtainable (google chrome inkjet paper)

Hmmm. I have the Kylo Ren shuttle, and would like to know what camera settings you used to take the picture. Could be the nudge I need to break my building block..

Hi Texman, I actually scanned the plate then reversed the image in photoshop...I did not trust myself to get a perfect horizontal picture frame with my hand held camera. I then reduced the image to 53% to make it the same size as the metal earth one

Right you are...cannot get a horizontal picture plane with my hand held camera (things would end up in a perspective of sorts!) ...if I had the mounting, it would have been much easier!

I checked this out before..the word Pearlescent has me abit worried as I purchased a batch fro LCI and it turned out thin, dull silver, not like the one I have, I am looking for the "Bare Metal" look we use on leading edges of certain planes or an armor breastplate! i will try the "Simply Elegant Metallic Chrome Gloss 8.5"x11" - 10 Sheets from (at) Lex , thanks for the tip.

I noticed an inconsistency in the the design of the D. If you notice the top of the saucer has two large points which appear to be from the D refit in 'All Good Things..'. Not sure why they did this.
