Voyager Spacecraft

Finally complete. A few weeks ago I finished Ton's Voyager in 1:25 scale. The number of laminated parts and very small butt and point joints added to a certainly a challenging build. Not that reversing the position of a few assemblies helped in any way shape or form. Still, if you've held back from trying, I'd encourage you to give it a go. Its worth it once it comes together.

The other new thing I tried on this build was taking pictures of the build in-progress. Without a plan or a tripod, this was very amateur. Ah well, lessons, and maybe improvements in the future.

Hmm, no embedding maybe?

Great job Scott. I hope that my SciKit from the IPMC convention comes out as nice.

While the SciKit has some great details, some are simplified. It can be built into a great model, though. I've given thought to rescaling Ton's model and using its detail parts to fit the SciKit model.

And to answer Astronut1's question, Ton's model can be found here: The Lower Hudson Valley Paper Model E-Gift Shop - Download - Post Apollo

Great build scot, I built the same model about 3 years ago. Challenging, but worth it.

By the way. I may have some good news about the Grace Satellite mission
that you designed your Grace satellite models for.

There will be a follow-on mission with new Grace satellites called
GRACE Follow-On (GRACE-FO) which is planned for launch in the December 2017/January 2018 time frame.

It will continue GRACE’s legacy of tracking Earth’s water movement
across the planet.

These new Grace satellites look similar to the original ones.
