1/480th Saturn 1B & Launch Complex

Hi all,
Just thought I'd share this with you. Thanks for all the help you guys have given me so far. This is just the test piece that I've worked on before I get to work on the real deal. It's not great but it's a start.

It's always been my favorite. The V might be bigger, but the 1B is better looking in my opinion. It's more visually interesting and I might be a little biased since it tends to be overlooked and that always draws my attention more.

Looks like you're off to a fine start. And, yeah, the Saturn 1B always looked more aesthetically pleasing. Just take eight Redstone rocket bodies, put them around a Jupiter core, and you've got yourself a rocket....

Some pictures of the flight hardware and Launch Complex 34. This is going to all be mounted to a plaque with the Apollo 1 mission patch as a Christmas present for my dad.

Also I'm not entirely sure how to rotate pictures on here...

mellow,

My name’s Mike — I designed those models. I’m glad you’re enjoying them! They look great!

Mello, that is a great idea for a Christmas gift. Very well built.

Mike, Great design, Sir.

I'm hoping to eventually build both of Mike's 1/480 Sat V and IB but adding additional SRB's and LRB's to make more powerful variants, which NASA engineers had designed in the 1960's. Designs sourced from the Secret Projects website.

Thanks to All, and Bravo from Texas.

I am beginning to suspect that the forum software sometimes rotates attached pictures to a landscape orientation so they will display wider than they are tall.
