The antennas look appropriately spindly. Fine job!

Definitely worth it!

I know you said that you over-did the graphics, but each build step seems to bear out the value of your effort. Besides, if someone ever decides to do a life-size, it will hold up in the printing...

By the way, the effort on the antennae was definitely worth it!

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Just the brackets and solar panels are left.

Just a note on the antennas.
From the image you shared of the rendered image, the antennas appear to have 2 pairs of antennas crossing at 90 degrees. A third pair passing at a 45 degree angle to the first two. Finally a single antenna extending straight out from the mounting stud.

Whereas the antennas you have made appear to be 3 pairs mounted 30 degrees from each other, though that could just be a distortion of my view.

I know it's a fiddly little detail but as someone with a little experience with radio antennas, the devil is in the detail.

Yes, you are right. They were fiddly enough as I built them... I didn't want to make it impossible by introducing too much detail. I'm going to blame it on a desire to be able to build it and artistic license.

Be careful of that artistic license; you could get it suspended for going too fast...

And I have the last few parts unfolded and the first bracket done. There are 8 of these brackets that hold the modules in the arms and also hold the solar panels. The panels have been laminated and are drying.

I suspect I may have all the sub-assemblies done tonight and do the final assembly tomorrow night.

Outstanding! I am amazed at how fast this build is going and how clean you work

Thanks for saying that. I'm amazed it is taking me as long as it has... and I'm continually seeing things I could have built better.

But assuming I don't get diverted the next few evenings I should have the initial model done by Friday night, then I'll need a couple days to finish the instructions and glue all the documents together.... Hopefully, you'll all be able to grab a copy by the end of the weekend.
