I am mostly done with attempt #2 on the torus. I simplified the inner faces of the ring, which seems to have removed a good bit of the lumpiness I was getting in the first one. Hopefully I'll have more pics this evening with it looking great.

I like the graphics on the ring.

Here is the 2nd version (simplified) of the warp torus. It definitely came out better than the first one. I still have one strip to do on the other side of it. Assuming it comes out as good as this side I'll make a 2nd one (pitching my original attempt) and move on to the collar and struts.

That is a good-looking torus. I'd say your efforts have been worth it. Looking forward to more.

The 2nd revision came out much better than the first. So I'm going to go with this. Now it is time to build a 2nd one.

It's been a couple of weeks, but I have both rings done well enough to my liking. Attempt #1 was junk, so these are 2 and 3. They are a lot more picky and involved than you might think.

Next up, the strut collars and struts.

Nice-looking warp tori there. Judging from the video the assembly appears complicated to me. Of course that could be due to the speed of the video and my not-so-young eyes. Looking forward to your continuation of the IXS Enterprise build.
