"Say, It's Only a Paper Moon..."
Don't know if this is the right subforum for this request, but does anyone know of a moon model other than the one at Canon Creative Park? I seem to recall another Japanese site that had moon and outer planetary globes, but can't find it.
(And no, I'm not looking for Moon Maid, Moon Mullins or Sailor Moon...) ;-) Many thanks! David T. Okamura |

Hi All,
And hi, dto. I believe your are looking for accurate representations of our moon, and sorry to say, I can't help you there. But if a fantasy moon will help you in your project, this Moon Palace has appeared in the Vintage Models sub-forum on this site. The attached scan of The Moon Palace is from the collection of Tom Greensfelder and was originally published by Familie Journal, a Danish publication, if memory serves. If you wish to see a description and photographs of a completed Moon Palace model, visit: Moon Palace Fellow member Rubenandres77 did a terrific job of recoloring and building this fantasy model. So, there's at least one new moon for you to consider. Score and fold, Thumb Dog |

Just tinkered a bit with SketchUp and created two simple versions. Both are 14 cm in diameter, the first is a bit lighter, the second has some darker areas. Both are untested, so assemble at your own risk.

That's no moon, it's a space station!

I remember seeing hi res scans of the moon surface, like that from google earth(moon), it will be quick work turning it into a model with pepakura or the like, if there is no existing model of satisfactory quality
