people have been begging designers for years for one of these angled decked carriers

I see....how about a card kit of the non-angled and could that be modified ? It almost seems to me that maybe to start from scratch in design might be the way to proceed. Thoughts anyone .....

Mons was an East German/Polish cardmodel publishing company, active in the 1960-70s

There are some vendors who sell Mon kits, and right now command premium pricing, $100 or more per kit

What gets me thinking is that if there is such a demand for a kit, why one hasn't been created by now ? Does anyone know of any problems which may have prevented one from being made ? Essex Class carriers were a backbone of the NAVY still their retirement...kinda like not having F-15's in the modern USAF.

Me too! Until the Forrestal came online and the others in that class the Essex class along with the Midway class was it.......... that's why the conversion the the angle decks for the Essex class was even considered and undertaken.

I've looked at converting a Essex class model (MM) and others but finding good plans showing the hull conversion for the angle deck have escaping me............ there were two basic conversions to the angle deck. Both required major hull modifications, Island mods, addition of steam cats and new elevators, and of course flight deck mods..........

Without good plans to work from its no worth even the attempt making the changes to an existing model or even try and create a new one.............of course my limited design skills also pose a small problem.

Boy I sure miss Barry...:-(
