Has anyone started Ken's SR-71? Need some help getting started.
The nose cone on the nacelle is throwing me for a loop. I'm used to models having tabs but this part doesn't. |

If you prefer tabs, then add them - glue paper strip to the back of the part.

I was thinking that, just wanted to learn how the others did it. Get my skills upgraded =0).

My technique for adding tabs:
Trace the seam line on the back of a sheet of paper with the model's color preprinted on the front face. Cut a line about 1/4" from the line on the outside curve with regular scissors. Use pinking sheers to trim up the inside line (provides folding tabs). I usually also incorporate the center seam tab on the cut out piece. Edge color the original parts, flip over the tab sheet, and glue to the back side. Always start on the ends of the model and work towards the middle. This will allow you to burnish the parts together from the inside to provide a smooth joint. |
