Just for fun.
Just for fun.
Coming fairly soon. Have to make the first test build, though. ;-) Since this is an artist impression, and the shape, dimensions and colors of the real rocket only exist on paper, it gives me the chance to make a model and add several options, such as livery and height. Cheers, Erik |

Goed dat je weer een beetje "back in business" bent!

Not exactly 'back in business', willem. I don't think I got the virus again (......), but I'm still working on some models, every now and then.

Erik,
Might be old news to you, but go to Youtube channel 'SmarterEveryDay'. Destin is the host and takes a personal tour of ULA's rocket factory with the CEO and highlights the upcoming Vulcan. On the right top is a thumbnail for part two on his 'Smarter EveryDay2' channel. He does some very interesting science videos. Your model looks pretty cool. Good luck. Wyatt |

Wyatt,
Yes, I've seen the video. Ofcourse ! ;-) Very interesting. It made it also perfectly clear why it is a very good idea to reuse parts as often as possible. Here is a preview of the finished model. If anyone is interested, contact me via a PM. Leave your email address there and I'll get back to you. With the parts I made, several configurations can be made. Two different paint schemes on the first and second stage, different lengths of payload fairing, and 0, 2, 4 or 6 boosters. Just make any configuration you want. The rocket is still a concept. My model is made after an artist impression. Instructions will be very basic, but should be enough for anyone who ever build such a model before. Cheers, Erik |

To those of you who are building the model : print the pages of the boosters on 150 grams paper, print the other pages on 200 grams paper.
Those tiny parts of the boosters are difficult to shape, when using thick paper. Wrinkles may occur too soon and they are hard to get rid of. If necessary, reinforce the boosters with another layer of paper on the inside. Some extra layers is always recommended, anyway. Most, if not all of my models are quite heavy. I always use a lot of extra paper to keep the models round and strong. _______ Erik |

You can see the 2 rockets in my daily thread "spacecraft of the day".
Very good job, Erik. Impressive models even in my 1/220 scale. |
