The decisive step was taken when, on April 12, 1961, the R7 rocket equipped with a Vostok capsule put into orbit Yuri Gagarin, the first man in space! Scissorandplanes model. The white parts of the rocket are not paint but ice formed by the icing of atmospheric water vapor on the liquid oxygen tanks at -183°c. |

The next step is the implementation of a new spacecraft that can accommodate 3 cosmonauts thanks to a third more powerful stage. It is the Voskhod (Dawn in Russian).
Voskhod 1, (the model), in October 1964, carries a crew of three men, including an engineer and a doctor. But the craft is impractical, too small and unsafe. The flight lasts one day. Model Scissorsandplanes. |

Can you give S&P catalogue number of those models? While Bruno made amazing models his method of cataloguing can be challenging

Voskhod 2, March 18, 1965 is another great first step.
For the first time, a man, the cosmonaut Aleixei Leonov gets out of his spaceship and "walks" in space (through the unfolding airlock visible on the model). But we are on the verge of catastrophe. Leonov almost gets stuck outside because his suit has inflated and it is with great effort that he can get back to the capsule. Later, the ship misses its re-entry and lands in catastrophe far from the planned point in a forest. The two cosmonauts spend the night, locked in the capsule in the middle of the wolves! Scissorsandplanes model. SP 1608! |

Question I haven't found answer to yet-there is a girder construction connecting (I'm guessing" stage 1 with other stages starting with Luna2 rocket.
What was the reason for that? |

I believe it was to allow the plume from the second stage engine to be vented outward during stage separation.
I could be wrong. The Titan II had the same setup.
