Sunday Special!
And news special!
Honor to the heroes of the day, astronauts Hurley and Behnken and visionary builder Elon Musk!
Yesterday, Saturday, May 30, 2020, this Falcon 9 rocket and its dragon capsule DM2 took off for the first American manned mission from American soil since the space shuttles stopped!
It will dock to the International Space Station today in the afternoon.
Model AXM:

And of course, the first stage was recovered intact from the barge Ocisly!

Size comparison, that's big, a Falcon!

Jan,
This is an incredible collection you have. Just wonderful skill for a small scale. I’m just delighted seeing an incredible array of a lot of historical models. Also, it is very pleasing to see some of my creations on this thread. Thanks for using my models.

Thank you very much alfonso.
I am very fond of your models. They are accurate and with many details but not difficult to build. And they are also a reflection of the current events.
Thanks for making these little treasures available to our community!

The Russians are developing a new capsule, more practical than Voskhod.
It will be the Soyuz.
Unfortunately, the first launches are marked by fatal accidents.
Soyuz 1 crashed to the ground upon his return, following a parachute problem, killing his cosmonaut Vladimir Komarov in April 1967.
And in 1971, 3 new cosmonauts died on a mission, following the depressurization of Soyuz 11.

Very nice build of the Falcon 9 and Dragon capsule! And a very fitting build in honor of the launch.

Thought we might see more builds of the Falcon 9 last week, but the quality of your pics more than makes up!

Thank you shalmaneser3!

However, as improvements are made, Soyuz will become the very safe and tireless ship that continues to transport cosmonauts, astronauts and spationauts.
Here is the Soyuz of the Odissea mission: two Russian cosmonauts, Sergei Zaliotin and Yuri Lontchakov and a Belgian astronaut Frank De Winne, mission to the ISS in 2002. Modified model of Mars Center.

Some views of the Soyuz spacecraft itself. This is the current model, the front of which is covered with antennas and sensors to facilitate securing to the ISS.

Here's a new spacecraft that looks like a Soyuz, but is not a Soyuz.
It is indeed a Progess, an unmanned and automatic cargo version designed to supply space stations.
Note that these days, the International Space Station has become a real parking lot. Note the number of docked ships!

By the way, what does the rocket that launches the Progress look like?
That's what we'll see tomorrow!
