By modifying a V2 (A4) with wing stumps to increase the range and a cockpit for guidance, the Germans created the A9.
It will be used as second stage to a massive rocket, the A10.
They thus hope to be able to cross the Atlantic and bomb New York.
However, the project was not a priority, as Hitler preferred a larger production of V2s, and it was never carried out.
Fiddlersgreen model for the A9 and recolored Nighthawkstudios for the A10.

With these models, we can find 2 ways to couple the rockets.

On October 28, 2008, the fourth Falcon1 is fired from Omelek Island, Marshall Islands.
It is the first successful launch of the small rocket of the private company Space X, founded by Elon Musk.
The major international space agencies are gently laughing at this unexpected "competitor".
But not for long!

10 years have passed.
The latest version of the Falcon9 (block5) puts Bangladesh's Bangabandhu-1 satellite into orbit on May 11, 2018.
The first stage of the rocket, instead of falling stupidly into the ocean, lands quietly on the barge Ocisly and will be recovered.
This is the great innovation of SpaceX.

August 7, 2018. The first stage block5 #46 (that of the rocket which put in orbit Bangabandhu-1) takes off for the second time for the setting in orbit of the Indonesian satellite of communication Merah Putih. Once its task is completed, it returns to land without problem on the barge Ocisly. It was the first reuse of a block5.

December 3, 2018. Third takeoff for the first stage block5#46. The load consists of 64 satellites from 34 customers and 17 different countries. Mission accomplished; the first stage is recovered again on the JRTI barge (Just Read The Instructions).

How did they load up 34 satellites in one right package?
They would have been on average about size of a home fridge. More importantly how to unload them safely up there so they don't collide and still get to designate orbit?
Wow.

They use a SSO-A (SmallSat Express) Deployer System from Spaceflight Industries. See here the video at the bottom of the page:

January 19, 2020, fourth and last launch for the first stage #46 which will be voluntarily destroyed during the test "Crew Dragon in flight abort" which must prove the survivability of the Dragon capsule and its astronauts in the event of a major accident during the ascending phase of the flight. Successful test that will allow a manned launch.
Note the dismantled folding feet.
