A wonderful collection of Russian technology.
I'm just trying to put together a model of the Progress M SO-1 PIRS rocket. PIRS is a module of the ISS space station used for docking Russian spacecraft. I'll try to build. If he succeeds, I will send it to you and I will be happy if it becomes part of your collection. It just takes more time. |

An R7 that I chose for its original shape (Type 11A510 US).
In this form, it was used to put into orbit the prototypes of the US-A oceanic reconnaissance satellites designed to track large American ships. These satellites were then launched by the Tsiklon 2. These satellites incorporated a small atomic reactor, and debris from one of them contaminated an area of Canada following a poorly controlled re-entry. Modified Scissorsandplanes model. Sunday Special for a recent news item.
On May 25th, Virgin Orbit tested a new launcher for small satellites: the Launcher One. It has the particularity of being launched from a plane in flight (a 747). Unfortunately, the rocket's engine stopped a few seconds after ignition and it was lost! To be redone! GDIP95 papermodels: https://gdip95.weebly.com/ |

Little reminder: in a previous post, I presented the Gaia probe to you.
Now here is the Soyuz rocket (version 2 ST with Fregat stage) which launched Gaia on December 19, 2013 from Kourou. I temporarily stop this small series, at least in the daily version, having plunged back into the 1/72 aircraft models. But this is just a "goodbye" ... |

This last model is your mod I'm guessing.
Do we get to admire (or ogle at ) your 1:72 aircraft as well? I know I'm interested. |

Small comparison between the first American manned capsule and the last one.
The model represents the Redstone rocket surmounted by the Mercury capsule (here the Liberty Bell 7 capsule of Gus Grissom, second American astronaut in space but not yet in orbit, July 21, 1961). With SpaceX: With gagarin's Vostok: |
