Ladee?

I had seen pictures of a "work in progress" of LADEE but I can't seem to find if the model was released, or where it is. Did anyone ever finish a kit?

There were two models available, I believe. One of them is mine. Pictures of the finished model were posted by S. Reinmann and myself.
If you want the model, just contact me via Private Message and give me your email address.

I just had a look and all of my pictures of my model are gone, because I had uploaded them to Photobucket. Since they went commercial I removed everything.....
Just try Google Images and type LADEE paper model. You'll find plenty of pictures.

Thank you so much for the offer! Although I was sad to see your website go, I understand the issues you had. Pictures of my build of John Jogerst's Mars Pathfinder are still being used in eBay auctions and I'm constantly sending reports to have them taken down.

Getting started!

One of the first things I notice is that this is probably the most well-fitting model I've seen in a long time. Tight joints and great engineering. I can tell the structure will be hefty and strong.

Smile

Still coming along. My eyes aren't what they used to be but the top deck looks good to me.

My eyes aren't what they used to be either, but to me the top deck looks awesome! Very precise & clean build.

Done!

LADEE is complete!

I made one alteration -- originally I colored the edges of the top deck with a colored pencil but I wasn't thrilled with the color I had available. I used a spare for the bottom deck edge and cut it down to 1 mm width and attached it the same way the one on the bottom deck goes -- much better!

Thank you again Erik for sharing this with me. It was a complex build but all the parts made sense and everything fit perfectly. Tomorrow I can load new ink into the printer and get the display stand ready as well.
