Big Saturn 1B
I present to your the Saturn-1B rocket at a scale of 1:33.
I must be crazy but I went and bought the 1:33 scale Saturn 1B from GPM paper models from Poland. I placed the order on Aug 22 and it arrived 18 days later on Sept 8. Not bad for the distance that it traveled. I bought the paper Saturn 1B model and the laser cut forms for the kit. It wasn't cheap. The Saturn kit plus the forms packets and shipping cost a little over $100.00 dollars. I know that's a pretty good chunk of change for a paper model but I'm a Saturn 1B fanatic and to have one 1:33 scale I couldn't pass it up. For me the Saturn 1B was the Hot Rod of the Saturn rockets. Now to get to the kit. This is a big kit. The paper model of the Saturn 1B itself consists of 72 large pages. The forms packets to assist in the building of the kit consists of 14 large and thick sheets of all laser cut parts. There is a stand provided to display the Saturn on. All an all I'm really satisfied with the kit. Now for me, the downside to this model is the size. It's big and I don't know if I have anywhere to display it or not but I knew that when I pulled the trigger to buy it. After looking at this model over for the last couple of days I know this is a model that is going to take some time to construct. It's not an overnight project. To be truthful I'm not sure I have the skills to build it but I'm going to give it a try. So enough about my thoughts. Here are some pictures of the kit and a couple of sites to see a build of this kit. https://only-paper.ru/forum/12-26348-1 https://only-paper.ru/forum/46-26147-1 |

That is going to be a tall model when done.
You shoulda bought two so you can put one on each side of a door.

"Cluster's Last Stand" was always my favorite launch vehicle. You're right that it had a hot-rod look to it. Will watch the build with great interest.
You've got the skills. Just take your time. Cardmodeling isn't a race. |

One on each side of a doorway. That's a good idea. All I know is I have a couple long term projects in my future. |

Thanks, dhanners. I will keep that in mind about it not being a race. I"m sure that will help. By the way great job on the X-15s.

Wow, The Mole, I am so pleased you are going to share this build, really exciting! I may be biased, but (IMO) it is IMPOSSIBLE for a model of a rocket to be too big. I agree with dhanners, take your time and savour every moment on such a big project. It would be fantastic to see as many photos as you can manage throughout the build.
Have a great flight! Kevin
