You could try resizing the Orbiter in the Downloads section. The ET and RSRMs are another story, though. Maybe Alfonso's versions could be resized, but they'd require a lot of scratchbuilt additions. Some details are simplified for 1/144th scale, and 1/48th would demand greater fidelity to the real thing.

When I built my Shuttle Stack in 1/96th, I used model rocket tubes for the ET and RSRMs, and covered them with skins I either made from textured art cardstock (the ET) or enlarged versions of Alfonso's parts (the RSRMs).

For the ETs nose and bottom, I enlarged Alfonso's parts and used them as templates to cut pieces out of the textured art cardstock.

If my math is correct, in 1/48th scale, the RSRM is going to be 3.04 inches in diameter. Apogee makes a 3-inch model rocket tube: 3" Diameter Slotted Tube

In 1/48th (again, if my math is correct) the ET is going to have a diameter of 6.9 inches. I did a quick search online and couldn't find any 7-inch tubes, but Apogee does make a 7.5-inch tube. In theory, you can remove a .6-inch slice lengthwise and join the ends; the cardboard will eventually take a circular shape. I've done the operation plenty of times, but never on a tube that big.
7.51in LOC Body Tube

thanks to all on the info on the 1/48th.
some time ago there was one started by a Thorsten Brand files are dated 2010 & 2011 it was of to a good start on the Shuttle but then nothing else since that I have located.
I,m probably just going to leave it at 1/96th.
thanks again

I remember the 1/48th-scale Orbiter thread. Seems like he got the hard part (the compound curves of the nose and forward fuselage/PBDs) done. It's a shame he never finished it.

Although 1/96th scale is half the size you want, it still makes for a good-sized model. I always thought some plastic kit manufacturer should've done a Shuttle Stack in that scale, but they couldn't even get the ones in 1/72nd or 1/144th scale correct.

An impressive collection. I’m sure we’d all welcome photos of your builds.
