1:72 Soviet N-1 Rocket

Well, after figuring out how to up scale the 1:144 scale N-1 to a massive 1:72 scale I've gone and started it
This is how I managed to upscale the 1:144 templates:

1. Print the parts sheets at 200% but as multiple page "Banner" or "Poster"
2. Cut out and join those parts that require it, such as the 1st stage engine base, etc.
3. Organise and lay down the parts onto A3 sheets, making sure I have everything identified properly
4. Scan / Copy those A3 parts sheets and print onto the 200gsm A3 Card Stock sheets I already have.

A bit fiddly but it should keep me busy until the skies clear and I can get back into some Astrophotography.

I've had to use 600gsm board to further reinforce the main engine plate, but apart from that all seems to be progressing well.

I fear that I will have problems when I start on the HUGE 1st and 2nd stage sections........

After discovering that my printer had printed the round reinforcement disc templates a bit small progress has been a bit slow today cause' I had to make my own, slightly larger reinforcement discs as I came to that part of each segment.
I think I also need to change the toner cartridges as I seem to have two tones of Green happening .....
Anyway, the main engine base is now finished so I at least have that as a nice display piece.......

I'll admit that I'm just a bit over awed by the sheer SIZE of this thing!!!!
Building of the 1st stage is progressing very well with the building and fitting of the 24 fuel line fairings.
I've just fitted the 12 smaller ones so far.

As long as I keep my head still (and my vertigo at bay...) I can get a bit done with this now.
1st Stage of my 1:72 scale N-1 is now done (I'll fit the stabilisers later...) and I can start planning the banner printing at 200% of the upper stage templates.
At least now it's looking less like a Dalek and more like a rocket stage
