Good day Mr. Cherkashyn

I read your comments on building the space shuttle with great interest.
The hints on how to deal with large surfaces in cardboard model building in a sensible way, I can understand very well. In my case it is a bit too late to implement them,
I'm sure you've read from my comments that I'm quite enthusiastic about your design work with regard to the shuttle in most cases.
Once again, I would like to emphasize that I consider the accuracy of fit to be excellent.
The fact that I was somewhat perplexed in some places despite the very informative sketches,
is, in my opinion, due to the fact that I have almost no idea about space travel.
Someone who has dealt intensively with space travel and the cardboard models for it, will certainly complete the model construction much easier.

Today only a small update!

Before I start to assemble the individual components of the shuttle,
there is still some work to do on the Et.
For example, there are several wires that have to be fixed with tiny little strips on the surface of the ET. Then I still have to find a way to route some of these lines at the transition from the ET to the orbiter.

In the pictures of the orbiter, some places are not really white but yellowish.
Where discoloration on the picture comes from is not clear to me. The orbiter is of course completely white inside.

Mr. Wojcik (seller) has often responded very quickly to my inquiries regarding the build sheet and has established the connection with YG Publishing and the designer of the model.

Mr. Geraskiyn (YG Publishing) answered my inquiry regarding the printing and sent me a PDF with a spare part.

Mr. Cherkashyn (constructor) was so helpful to give me hints about the model and to send sketches showing how and where to connect the Orbiter to the ET.

This fast and friendly communication between buyer, seller, publisher and constructor is a very positive experience for me in cardboard modeling.

Wedding at the construction of the Orbiter!

Now the individual assemblies are to grow together.
Attaching the two wings to the storage compartment was still quite easy.
But how do you store this monster, when it comes to
cockpit and/or drive block to the stowage compartment?
First I glued the drive block.
After a good drying, it was time for the cockpit.

After much deliberation, I took a chance,
to put the already quite heavy model between two chair seats on the flaps,
in the hope that they would not collapse under the weight.
It worked! Nothing bent or folded.
I will attach the eight flaps for the storage space later.

Beautiful job so far, and that thing is HUGE!

A couple of accuracy notes, but I'm not sure what, if anything, can be done about them:

* The American flag on the starboard wing is backwards. The blue field of stars should be on the left.

* The flight deck's two overhead windows are too far forward. They should be more rearward, closer to where the Payload Bay Doors meet the Orbiter bulkhead. I realize this error is designed into the model and there's probably nothing to be done about it.

Thanks for pointing out the errors.

What makes this even more confusing is,
that on a picture of the original shuttle the flag on the right side
of the ship is also wrong.
That would exonerate the YG publisher in this case.
I will correct the error on the wing.

Mr. Geraskiyn has already sent me a PDF with the corrected flag.

But what should I do with the flag on the right side?
Leave it as it is in the original photo?
Or correct it?
But then the model again did not match the original!

The flag on the right side of the shuttle is correct. The blue field is forward, as if the flag were flying in the wind,
mirroring the left side of the ship.
Think of the flag on a flag pole.
