Willy Ley Space Taxi

Now that I do not have my own website, I'm looking for a place to put the files for my interpretation of the Willy Ley Space Taxi.
I found the file I had posted on my website. Because I went detailed on the instructions (maybe too detailed in retrospect) The file is rather large at almost 8 megs.
Is this too large to upload to the Downloads section? I'd like to redo the file but can't locate the original working files.

Joe

The Zorn/Andres Ford Tri-Motor is just short of 19 Megs, so I imagine it would be OK. (But I'm not an Admin or Mod, so I can't say for sure.)
It would be nice to have your models available again and here woul be a nice place.

I admire your detail, since the file is so large. Too bad you can't keep it intact.

Hope to see it,

The DC

Tanks, huys.

If the tri motor is that large I will make the attempt to Put it in the downloads section tomorrow.

I've learned so much about keeping file sizes smaller over the years.
Compare: thebspace tug files with instructions is oly 700k compared to the 8 meg for the space taxi. Time between creating them - 6 years.

Hope no one minds since it's styrene, not card, but here's my take on the Monogram Space Taxi from several years ago. Might provide someone with additional inspiration for a repaint?

Nice work, Les. I've visited your page previuosly. Funny how we both have considered the taxi only had fore and aft thrusters!

i hope this helps in some way.
open your pic files in paint, then save them as gif images in another folder, that will reduce the megs.
a little quality is lost but it might be worth it.
or
get an image shack account.
then upload the files with the bulk uploader add on.
then you can copy the link in the header and post it here and they can download it from you, i think you might need an authors page that will direct you to the download page for a link to be legal here.

Thank's for the suggestion sa9. I won't go to gif or jpeg, I despise those formats for model files if they can in any way be avoided.
I'll pull it apart in Acrobat Pro and see if I can reduce the file size. it may already bewritten in stone, though.
