What happend to Mars Center???

Hey Carders:
Just joined the group and as a relative noob, I am looking forward to plumbing the depths of your collective wisdom. I have a question about the models created by Raimondo Fortezza, in particular his 1:100 space shuttles. I have seen and read about his work in a number of locations but it seems that Telespazio is hiding the files. I have sent them a couple of emails but have yet to hear a reply. Does anyone know if these models are still avaliable and if so, where can they be found.

Many thanks!!
Simon

I see this website now has both the 1/144 and 1/100 versions of the ISS models: International Space Station Page

Hope that's what you were looking for.

Were they actually from the same designer? I always had the notion that MARS center and axm were separate entities...

They are separate entities
To get to the Mars center files you have to type in http : / / web(dot)archive(dot)org / web / 20080222060207 / www(dot)marscenter(dot)it / ita / veicol(dot)asp?pa=605
You'll have to take the spaces out and convert (dot) to .
But that should get you there

Telespazio seems to be no longer hosting the models so the wayback machine - ennder's link - is the place to search. Also useful for other "lost" sites.

While we're on the topic, does anyone know of a 1:96 or 1:100 Space Shuttle kit w/ET&SRB's? If so, where and how much?

Gideon,
Don't know of any large scale paper models, but ...
Alfonso at AXM offers the shuttle stack free in 1:144 (ISS and payloads are inexpensive - especially considering the quality and detail).
At 1:144, major parts take up an entire page so anything larger would involve a lot of splicing. That said, you should be able to take the files to an office supply shop/printer and have them do an enlargement on bigger paper (cut up a poster board?) using a large carriage poster printer. I think Alphonso's graphics and engineering would work enlarged to 1:100 or so.

Many Thanks for the Replys!!

Hey Kids:
First of all - many thanks on the various suggestions. And a SUPER thankyou to enneder for the wayback link - after seeing so many great pics of the Fortezza model, finding that page was like coming across the holy grail (I think I shed a tear). It will be a while before I'm ready to tackle them, but having the plans tucked aside on a CD will give me something great to work towards. So again Mr. ennder, if I was wearing a hat, I would gladly doff it!!!

I second merzo's suggestion. I'm sure this is common knowledge to most reading (remember, I'm the noob here...:D:o) but Lower Hudson Valley has several nice EFT and SRB sets at both 1:100 and 1:200. Explore and enjoy!! I think the very one that merzo has in his pic (and an fine pic it is too!!) is that plan that now sits next to my Fortezza Shuttle plan, awating that faithful day when I print, hold my breath, and start cutting!!
Check here...

Cheers
