Apollo Lunar Lander
Well here is yet another Lunar Lander,
I drew up the model in Sketchup Pro 14, and used Adobe Illustrator to add details and color. I am attaching the front and rear sections using magnets so the interior details will be easily accessed for viewing. I plan on making a full cabin with all the details but am not going to do all the framing and understucture as in the nice model by UHU02. This has been an ongoing off and on project for me for quite a while. Ken West and Billy got me fired up with that command module model so I have brought this out of limbo and started working on it again... The model is based on the July 2006, John Ortmann digital Model, lots of detailed drawings from David Weeks, and Vincent Means model which was based on all the above. Here are some shots of my design and progress on the model. This is all very rough and is a work in progress.... Enjoy And some shots of the Beta Build to date....

Well it is a vectored design, so any scale is possible. I am waiting on Ken's model because obviously I am going to marry them.
Anyway it's more about the placement of the parts and how much trouble it is to get them to fit on the paper. The short answer is your looking at 1:24 scale right now.

Well it's pretty rough right now as I am experimenting with some ideas, but my hope is that it will be very detailed by its end, glad you're liking it.

I don't think the right words are 'yet another on', but rather 'here's my take on the LM". I for one, really like to see various designs of one subject. As a designer, it fascinates me to see how your model is designed and textured.
I have a high regard for David Week's drawings (I have a few). Using different sources for you model will set it apart and give a different and fresh aspects to the finished design. I like to see the level of detail that can vary in different versions, and we are able to find that level that suits our individual tastes. The engineering challenges that are addressed also appeal to me in the different way the design comes together. Thanks for working on this and sharing your wonderful work. Best Regards,

The LM has always been one of my favorite pieces of space hardware. It seems to me though the LM 5 AKA Eagle, has been overproduced.I for one would like to perhaps LM 9 AKA Falcon from the Apollo 15 mission. You ask why? I in turn would like to see a J mission LM which incorperated the lunar rover. And I will be biased on this because the 15 mission had an all Air Force crew aboard.Just something I would like to at least be considered. Thank you in advance for the outstanding work that your doing. Ed.
