Thanks for the links to the files. Has anyone else had any issues printing these models? I was hoping to build one of each orbiter (yes, I'm a bit of a sadist), but the files with the different names print out differently than the original Endeavour files. Even the Endeavour worm file (endeavour6w.pdf) prints differently than the original (endeavour6.pdf). I'll try to upload a picture of the difference, but basically the level of detail is different. This is most obvious in the tile density - the original has distinct white lines between the tiles, the others are almost completely black.

Yes, that issue is caused because some of them are high-quality, and the rest are very low quality (Which causes the lines to be thicker). This is especially noticeable on the underside. That's a big reason why I want to reskin the whole thing. I saw that before someone had mentioned that, and he emailed them a whole set of high-quality pdfs. I wish he would have just posted them online, and I wish there was a way to contact him now.

To get around the different shuttle issues, I'm just going to try making the nametags modular so that I could change the orbiter name at will.

That's interesting. I guess I can stop wasting paper trying to fiddle with my printer's settings to get them to match... if anyone ever does get in touch with him to get the high quality files, send them my way, will you?

I wonder if he'd let me just upload them elsewhere. I'm still awaiting reply

I sent a message as well, let's hope the multiple queries motivate him to action.

Edit: I think I've decided that one 1:100 shuttle stack is enough. I'll try to figure out how to fix the AXM nose and make smaller versions of each of the other orbiters.

This was something I never noticed before. Now I never have studied Fortezza's shuttle minutiously enough to really see these differences but what is the reason some files are of a worse quality?

secondly, wasn't the whole Fortezza shuttle a kind-of derivative of the well-known Betexa kit?

He must have used different software or different settings to convert them from vector art into pdfs. It's the oldest ones that are low quality. Newer files he posted generally do not have the issue. Another thing I noticed about the low quality ones is that if you load them into a vector art program, they're made up of thousands and thousands of tiny polygons (For example, one very small circle could be made of 10 or so) instead of perfectly drawn elements. Also circles and such aren't round, but have very jagged edges. Yet in the newer ones, a circle is a circle and the lines are straight and aren't nearly as bold.
