Model of the week?

So why is this called "Model of the Week" when they remain up for months at a time?

Yeah. Model of the year might have worked as well but I get the point. I hope to have internet hopefully this week so I am not trying to do everything with my phone. So maybe we could try switching it up now and then.

There's this thing called "life" that keeps interfering with all of the important stuff.

Seriously though, "Picture of the week" has been a great feature of this site for many years, surely if one person is too busy to do it, you could appoint someone else to do it?

I'd be happy to help out, if required, as I'm sure others would too. It would be great to see it up and running on a regular basis again.

I don't have any control over it. I just know that the people who are in charge keep having life interrupt. I'd volunteer to help out, but life likes to surprise me with a swift kick between the legs whenever it thinks I'm starting to enjoy things again.

Yeah I'm aware you don't personally have any control over it, I'm just speaking generally, seeing as the forum owner, and current POTW Editor is posting in this thread and no doubt other staff will all be reading.

I miss seeing the regular POTW posted on the front page. When I open the forum I go straight to that page, specifically to see the POTW. It highlights outstanding work in all the areas of the forum, sometimes pointing out an exceptional build I never would have seen otherwise. I may not appreciate all the different subcategories of the forum when it comes to my own taste in models, but I appreciate great workmanship when I see it.

Being awarded POTW is an honourable feeling, another way of recognising someone's hard work and effort on a build... I'd like to see it return to it's former glory.

Jason is working on it....

While it's nice, it's not the end of the world if it is not available right now. More important that the Forum remains alive and functional as it is now!

Remove the phrase "Model of the Week" and replace it with something like "Notable Models." Following every post and choosing the best photograph of the week is really a formidable task. billy.leliveld did it for years and good for him. And then he went away for a while. Good for him again. Never say Never, but I'd guess that a true Model of the Week is now a thing of the past.

One aspect of 'Model Of The Week' that I noticed was there was NEVER any dispute on the choice. Hope it returns because it really reflected the best side of our beloved hobby.
