Polish Steam engine Pt47 in 1:25

Right now I'm building Pt47 - I started in late November along with finishing Px29. The model came with laser-cut wheels and screws.

Pt47 is my second model in 1:25 and 4th railway model. I did two in 1:87, but I have no bravery to show them in public

Because of starting new topic here, and having many pictures, this first post will be with short description of parts. Later on I'm sure I will be able to give a decent commentary about all pictures.

Firstly I built framework for tender (You can see Px29 in comparision):

Then I started to cut out the frame, which was quite hard work to do, mainly because of thickness of cardboard - 1,5 mm.
Then endless gluing of screws:

I also built boiler:

And the tender:

Next thing was construction of trailing truck and wheels:

Here are leaf springs of driving wheels:

Pt. 2

I also tried to paint boiler with black spray - the effect is nice, after joining with firebox I will paint it one more time:

Bumpers:

Main parts of tender's bogies are almost finished, after placing leaf springs they'll be polished and painted:

The two last pictures show plate with railway track (it will be very helpful to correct positioning of all the wheels) and my experiment with dirtying of leading bogie:

My buliding may seem chaotic, but I like to think "Hm, today I'd fancy to do leading bogie." I keep track of every part in case there's particular sequence in fixing elements. That means I can work on cylinders one day, and on something different the other day, so it makes the work nicer to me.

Any comments or questions are welcomed.
Greetings,
PJ

Very impressive build. Are this and the Px29 both 1:25 scale? If so, this one must be a giant!

Nice build. It looks like it will be a very nice size. The laser cut bolt heads really give a nice detail effect.

Thank You for all positive comments - they are really motivating!

Alas, I have exams on Wednesday and Thursday, so buliding is almost completely stopped. I hope, I will pass them and start modelling again.

And for an information - model is really very big, it has almost one meter long and 18 centimeters high.
Here You can see me in comparision with the original locomotive (And I'm 183cm high!):

And if somebody is interested, here is a nice collection of pictures:

Thanks for the pix of the actual engine. They really put it in perspective. Good luck on your exams.

Hello again,

I'm starting my build again, so today I took some pictures. It's cloudy here, so some of them are a little bit dark. Especially these with general view - it's very hard to take photos of such a big model.

I started working on cylinders and valves (is there a name for the whole part?). In this model they are very simplified, so I decided to add a few parts, which are not included.

In the same time I made a cab floor. I took a thin sheet of wood from some old closet and cutted it into little boards. After polishing it will be painted with black matt.

Details:
1) frame for lubricators
2) bumpers and ? (how do you call it?)

Here you can see an overlook of chassis, front bogie, braking cylinder and suspention of leading bogie. Of course, it will be painted once again, but firstly I have to do a suspention of all driver wheels. A looot of painting awaits me Also, none of wheels is glued - that's why they are askew.

And traditionally - general view:

I know, some parts could look better, but I'm still learning
Tasks for weekend:
- at least two driver wheels
- finishing the cylinders

Greetings,
PJ

Superb job! If you mount it on a mirror you (Us) would be able to enjoy all the hidden details. Really nice.
