Trying out "N" Scale

Wanted to take a stab at doing some "N" Scale stuff (1/160).

So here is my first Loco; its a 4-8-4 Steam with 8-8 Tender.

Just need to get the instruction docs done, and I'll send over to Chris at ECardModels.com to add to the store. If the N Scale seems popular, I'll go back and do some of my other stuff in N Scale too.

Very nice! I ran N scale trains years ago, when I lived in an apartment and had no space.

Hi Nate, sorry for the delayed reply, traveling for Christmas, so didn't get online till now.

But to answer your question, or not answer it maybe, This was not reduced from anything, I just created it from scratch in InkScape and scaled it at 1/160 which is "N" Scale.

All my others I did the same way in 1/87 for HO.

If I go back and do others from HO down to N - I probably won't just reduce those, I will start from scratch and redevelop because at the smaller scale I would do some things differently to make them build easier.

Hope that tells you what you are wondering....

Also Peter -

Thanks for the compliment, but don't encourage me!! I mean going "Z" would be a great challange, but I've got lots to do to get a good line of N going... Dang - now I'm already thinking about how to do some Z's..... Well there goes my free time for 2012....

Hi Mark,

I had to go check out the HO Scale stuff as a result of reading this. Bad enough that I have a ton of N Scale that I need to get set up in my new digs, but if I am going to have a display set up, it will have to be HO. The N Scale will be for operational use.

Nice work in such a small size.

Now to figure out how to work up these flat-box-hopper-loco-caboose thingees into a 3 D project.
