My first paper model

Hi all, I made this loco (loosely based on GWR "Manor" class) as a display for a friend's flower arrangement at the local church. It's rather larger than my usual modelling project, but it started me off on paper modelling, and I am now into my favourite area: ship building, currently CFM "SS Grainton" 1:250 scale. Also started 1:250 Wilhelmshaven "Nella Dan", so I have plenty to keep me going for a while.
Really enjoying the change of modelling medium (usually work with wood), and getting lots of info from this forum.

Thanks, guys.
Yes, entirely scratch built, mostly from artist's mount board and some thinner stuff for the boiler. Plans drawn up from a couple of photos in railway modelling mag, and scaled UP!! (The large size is because the tender had to take vases of flowers......) Fortunately my friend has a larger house than me to put the model on show.
Now for smaller stuff!!!
Well, the sails are paper!!

Great locomotive model, and all the more impressive for being scratch built!

Holy heck, that model is huge-- and beautiful. You have a lucky friend. He could almost ride in it.

For a first card model, that is darn impressive. In fact, it would be impressive if you'd been at the hobby a few years....
