Lightbulb Narrow Gauge Locomotives (new designs)

Hi again, sorry for my absence.

Amid much work with Micromodels kits I've finally designed two models of my own. These are industrial narrow gauge locomotives, which Micromodels curiously never delved into.

The first is the Talyllyn Railway's No. 6 'Douglas', an Andrew Barclay E Class from the late 1910's. Some of the finer details such as buffer head posts and pipework would be best complete with wood or string segments. Parts with a red dot next to them are to be backed with card to provide better depth.

The second is another Talyllyn engine - this time it is No. 5 "Midlander", a Ruston & Hornsby 33/40 HP diesel locomotive. As with No. 6, parts with a red dot next to them are best off double-layered for better depth. The only details that would need to be added are buffer head posts and a knob (best made from wood).

Both models would be best scaled to fit on standard N gauge track, though can be re-sized to whatever the modeler prefers.

I haven't built up either model, so am hoping someone may have time to test-build both models to ensure they build up properly? Feedback would be appreciated.

Cheers Justin, I've added them both to the pile.

I've ridden behind both of them I think and the enthusiasm of the staff is quite infectious. The Tallyllyn Railway is just a short run out for me, with a superb scenic drive to get there too.

Johnny.
