Here's my weekend progress:
The wheel spokes weren't the most enjoyable part of this build but I've dealt with worse. Building a jig out of the wheel pattern provided is almost essential for proper spoke placement. I've also had to trim the back plate on the frame to make it flush at the top where the cab floor will go. If I had caught this earlier, I would have made it flush at the top and not at the bottom in the beginning. Everything else has come together relatively nicely, so far. Greg |

The jig is the only way to go and makes spoking much easier. Looking good, and I see you have the brake rigging in.

Excellent frame!
Could you show us a photo of the jig you built to align the spokes? Don |

Thanks for showing us the jig. It is very helpful to see the kinds of support devices other modelers use.
The frame construction is coming along very well. Don |

Here are Tuesday and Wednesday progress results. All of the small linkage (throttle?) took a little bit of time to figure out the best way to assemble, but was relatively easy to do at the end.
The front boiler support was placed on the appropriately marked space on the frame but I think it could have been placed a little further forward for better effect and fit of the boiler. Still not too bad though. Greg |

The wrapper for the sand dome needs to be carefully fitted. Mine came out too short by 2-3mm.

My break to invade an IPMS/AMPS contest with my paper builds got me a little behind on the engine here. But progress was made yesterday.
One issue I don't know how to solve: a sizeable gap between the cab and the back boiler section. I'm not sure if its me or the kit thats at fault. It did come in useful though as a way to route the small tube from the front boiler section to the cab on the left side since no access holes were called out in the cab wall. Greg |
