Looks good Dany. I thought the painting you were doing was the final coat. More to look forward to. Looking forward to your next set of pics too.

No Elliott, these patches of paint are just intended to give me an idea of the overall look ; the color of the satin black doesn't match the printed color at all (wich is more like a very very dark grey).

And thanks for the compliments, guys, I'm rather pleased myself with the results so far, concidering that I don't have much experience...
Given my lack of experience, the results so far must be a credit to the quality of the design.

Progress to follow soon, I'm working on the "house" atm.

Phew, just spent almost an entire afternoon on bending the first of the sandingtubes, I'm not all that satisfied with it, but I'm going to leave it as it is before I do damage to the rest of the locomotive (one of the brakes came loose already). The absence of patterns to bend those pipes is, so far, the biggest disadvantage if this kit.

I don't have the pictures uploaded yet, but I'll get that soon.
For today, I'll just stick to a good book and later the television.

One more thing that is pitty, is that they don't have the decals for this locomotive, while they do have them for several others. :(

Turns out they DO have the decals, only downside is ; they come in a set that covers about 26 (22 railroadmodels and 4 fire engines) models (of which I'll never built them all) and cost about 36 euros

Thank you very much

OOOh, no way, I was going to order it, but at the check out, it turned out that there was going to be 20 euro's shipping and handling for an item that costs only 1.25 euro and fits in a standard envelope, I would call that theft... :( :( :(

Wow. Indeed. I can buy books from the UK and ship it all the way to where I live in Hungary. Never does it cost more than 4-5 euros. I'm surprised modelik would charge that much for local EU shipping.

Well, time for a little update.

One of the things in a steamengine that catches the eye, are the pipes that are installed all over the place.
On this model, there are four sanding pipes, running from the sanding dome, towards the four outside wheels.
A clear, 1/1 drawing of how to bent those pipes, is not included, so it is a matter of trial and error :

And on the other side the same :

The floor is part of the lasercut set, and is really nice with same paint on it :

Next up, were the tanks/bunkers or whatever they are called :
