Express 3D Steam Loco from 1890s
This is my latest and possibly last 3D loco build that i've almost finished and wanted to approach it in more detail. I have lots of plans with precise measurements should anyone want to build this as a paper model, which should be awesome. You can find some blueprints, including cabin layout plans, in this old out of print magazine from the 1960s http://blog.copcea.ro/files/tehnium/modelism/m8603.pdf And I will also post some highres plans here
the locomotive in question is a 2-4-2 express engine from the 1880s used in Romania. Several variants were made by Hanomag and Steg from 1883 to as late as 1896. Here is the factory photo of the first engine: A later version had been modernized with an air brake and a third version had several more additions, like an oil burning system, a train heating system and a speedometer. This superheater weighed in at 50t, had two large diameter driving wheels (1.93 meters), had a boiler stamp of 10 BAR ( 145.038 PSI) and could top at 100km. Wheels supported the following weights: Leading Wheels - 12.000 kg Front Driving Wheels 14.500 kg Second Driving Wheels 14.000 kg Trail Wheels - 9000 kg Odd story about this engine. Many were built but one survived, and was placed on display in Bucharest sometime in the 1930s, in a public park. World War II was around the corner, and, during a bombing raid over the city in 1945, a bomb landed straight in the middle of the engine and ripped it to tiny little bits. Very unfortunate. Fantastic! Do you do this type of work for a living?

Trying to anyway. I do 3D modeling, but I'm still learning. These works are meager compared to what pros can do.

Not really, i'm not that good with papercraft. I would have to rebuild the whole thing in 3D to get the proper prints.

Dude, you're killin' us here. These are beautiful renders and no paper models of your work! Just keep posting the art then, so we can drool over them.
