I made a tool to help with the assembly of the lower frame of the locomotives:

The upper piece is put in place and the delicate sides fold up against the edges. Then the lower part is folded and glued in place:

It can be used to hold the frame in place, while the hoods and cab are added.

Autorack... I have not made one, but I could look into it. It is a basic long flatbed car with a structure over it. HO scale would make it very big, but N would be OK. As we have seen elsewhere, card models can be re-scaled with some adjustments.
I have a paper autorack in HO and yes, it is very big.

Here is a picture of some of the stuff:

Here is one model I actually finished (besides the hand rails and really fiddly stuff):

Bruno was kind enough to share freely, so I feel I should give back. Here is the KCS locos. You can find reference pics on the web, since the locos are clearly marked with their road numbers. I have not made the fiddly handrails, but can get to that possibly tomorrow. I have all the fiddly bits for the other 8 locos, though.

Not quite the quality I was hoping for. However, it does give you an idea of the level of detail. EMail me at [email protected] and I will gladly send you a copy of this one.

KCS 4000

Wow!
Very nice Locos, and rolling stock, I for one would love to see the kits, would go well with my other Card trains.... Would also like to see some in Southern Pacific Grey and Red "bloody Nose" scheme.. Well done there! Excellent detailing..

Being from Kansas City, I'd love to see an Amtrak, MoPac, MKT, Santa Fe or Burlington Northern. Don't see any CN engines, but lots of CN rolling stock.

These are looking very good. Nice work on the jig

The local company, GEXR, hauls a lot of CN stock. The green and yellow GP40 started out as MKT 206. I could repaint it to that scheme.

BTW, I did not draw these locos, but I do have permission from the original artist to use the drawings to make models from. Just thought I'd clarify that. The majority of the paint jobs are my own.

At Michael Eby's site, I have a couple of credited profiles. Here is one of them:
