Prudenziati Snow Plow
When I sat down at the building board today, I suffered Corsair overload, so took a change of pace and dug deep into the "someday" file. I came up with the HO scale snow plow designed by F. Prudenziati. I managed to get one of the suspension subassemblies completed before hitting terminal eye-crossing. Now the other half is complaining about hunger pangs, so I guess it's time to knock off the building session and trundle down to KFC. If this comes off, I'm going to be forced to finally build an engine to set behind it.

This looks interesting. I've never seen any of Mr. Prudenziati's trains built up and snow plows have their own intrigue. Is this a European snow plow? I take it this is HO or 1/87??
I look forward to seeing this one develop. Chris |

Chris, this is an European style plow in HO scale. THe kit used to be available from Dewaye Barnett, but I no longer see it posted on his website.

The cabin assembly is done. For the photos, it is just dry-fit on the platform. Until the fiddly parts are all placed on the underside of the platform, I think I'll leave the top of the platform bare. I wound up doing a little surgery and removing the gluing tabs from the sides of the platform, and from the cabin pieces as well. Since I added cardboard stiffeners to the cabin sides, there is still plenty of gluing surface on the butt joints. I wound up having to make a few relief cuts into the sides of the platform in order to get the cabin assembly to fit onto the platform, but nothing major so far in the way of fit problems, and the corrective measures were very easy.

Outstanding! Definitely in the "can't believe it's paper" category.

That is a neat little build, very well done! I love trains, and this one's so unusual.

Excellent! It would be a good basis for a diorama.
