Ripon & Wolf River RR
I hadn't noticed this forum section before. There is some neat stuff here.
Here's another background building I scratchbuilt over the New Year's holiday. I'll add side walls and roof when I figure out how far the building needs to extend from the backdrop. The brick paper and freight door came from Clever Models. I used Photoshop to add the signs to the brick. The windows and foundation are from Paper Creek, the building design is from a 1953 issue of Model Railroader. I printed the plan full-size from the magazine article (I have MR's digital archive on disk.) I laminated that to 2mm card, cut out the window and door openings, and applied the brick paper to the opposite side. (It occurs to me now that I could have applied the brick paper over the printed plan. My build is a mirror image of the plan; it didn't have to be.) Then I carefully cut through the brick paper from the back of each opening and folded the sides around the 2mm card. I used Photoshop to size the windows and doors. One could just as easily fit the openings to available windows and doors, if you don't have Photoshop. The not-so-great image is a scan; my camera is out for repair. Cheers, --David

Here are some other paper models I've recently built for the shortline.

Acme Rocket-Powered Products reminds me of the Superior Detritus Company on the old G&D. The box cars advertised, among other things, "Basic Baloonium Ores."
All very fine building, David. I look forward to more on the R&WR. Perhaps the Carlisle and Cape May Railway and Steam Navigation Company will some day see the light of day. Don |

These aren't paper but the bridge, gravel loader, and Ruhmer Mill are prize winners.
I built the covered bridge from plans in Model Railroader. It required some rather elaborate jigs. The gravel loader was a kit condensed from the prototype. I didn't like the kit materials so I threw them out and scratchbuilt the loader using the kit's prototype drawings. Ruhmer Mill came from drawings in Model Railroader and was built as a mini-diorama back when I didn't have room for a layout. W.I. Shaw & Co. was freelanced and named after my good friend jim Wishau.

David,
Those are absolutely beautiful models! Do you have a layout, if so, I'd love to see it. I pulled out some of my HOn3 trains over the holidays (I'm not sure what I want to do with them.) russ...

I have been thinking of Z gauge, but the size of any buildings are tiny. Card would be the answer for these I guess.
