minimodel

as usual, starting a new project before others are finished

inspired by the old minimodels

a train at 1/200 th

a switcher

i draw with corel draw
first reduce the plans to scale
then draw multiple overlays
i often draw in color, to help keep the drawing lines different from the plans

springs

laid out a little more of the frame and then the side view of the springs

the "simple" version of this model will have wheels springs and drive rods all s one piece

for an "advanced" version you will be able to cut them out and build up a subassembly with layers that will give a little more feeling of depth

since the whole engine is only about an inch long designing it involves a variety of creative simplifications

Beautiful steam loco

That is great but tiny. I would have to scale it up to even see it!

tiny

its about 1 3/8 " long
it could easily be scaled up
although there are certain things about the design that should be changed if it got bigger

if the locomotives at this scale are successful maybe i'll offer an HO scale version

when I get it finished i'm hoping there will be some people who would like to "paint" it
