Good work Tim, I would have been tempted to make the rails a little oranger in colour so that they didn't look quite the same as the sleepers, but then you have seen a lot more rails and sleepers than I have. Are you going to run a bit of pencil along the top of the rails?

I find colour very subjective. Most things on the railway end up being the same sort grimy dark grey. The outer pair of rails is the running line, and the inner new rails prior to being installed.

The shine on the running edge, really depends on the amount of traffic. A busy line will look like the photo. A less used branch line or sidings less so.

She's finished:

Quite an enjoyable little build. I'm pleased how the base came out. Might start doing some more.

That was quicker than I expected. Neat, clean and precise - all the things that characterize a Tim Crowe build. Looks very good. Love the base!

An again a great build !
Maybe a simple model but still a nice kit and definitely an uncommon one to build.

That's a fast one Tim! Well done and I find your considerations of how to make the diorama rails very interesting. I can imagine that's a great deal of fun.

Have a merry Christmas!

Erik

Delightful build Tim.

Of course the base will need to be a bit longer for your forthcoming model of an RM900 RT.

Beautiful work, Tim. The little armored railcar is appealing, and each of the rail chairs is a complex model in and of itself.

That looks really good. The base makes a good display, too. Nice craftsmanship.
