Tatra trams
This is the first installment in a blog concerning my Tatra trams.
Now, the background is this - Tatra trams are everywhere in central and Eastern Europe - Germany, Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic and so on. Models of these trams are a little difficult to locate on the web, but I have drawn mine from a variety of sources. What I found is that the available images vary greatly in the definition and the resolution. Also, though many are supposed to be to HO scale (1/87th) the files when printed out are not accurate. So - what I have done is to convert all the images to 300dpi and scaled them correctly, referring to stated dimensions found on various websites. The best models seem to have originated from the source called "Amater", and therefore I have used these as the basis for my models. Other designers have adapted the models as well, so I have taken their designs and adapted them accordingly. I have found one or two examples of the bogies from Amater, and have used these throughout since they are accurate and fit HO scale track properly. Many of the available models use a simple box as a bogie, which I rejected. I have tried really hard to find the originators of the models, without success (the language problem has not helped), but if at any time the authors wish to contact me and discuss my usage of their models, I would be happy to hear from them. Anyway - to sum up - I have repainted some models, and produced reproductions of trams located in a variety of places. I am currently constructing them and will keep adding to this thread as I complete them. In the meantime, here is a photo of one of the bogies - which is perhaps the most fiddly part to construct. Here is a photo of my tram shed with some of my earlier attempts at these trams.

Available files
I've now got a number of Tatra tram model files available for anyone who would like them. They have photo-realistic windows, accurate bogies and all have specific liveries and matching numbers/destination boards.
The trams I have are as follows: B6A2 - Berlin (Germany), Magdeburg (Germany), Prague (Czech Republic) KT4DM - Berlin (Germany), Zagreb (Croatia) KT8D5 - Sokolovska (Slovakia), Prague (Czech Republic), Kosice (Slovakia) T6A2 - Prague (Czech Republic), Kosice (Slovakia - "Firotour" livery) T6A5 - Bratislava (Slovakia), Ostrava (Czech Republic), Prague (Czech Republic) T6B5 - Udmurtiya (Russia), Zaporożu (Ukraine) T7B5 - Moscow (Russia) While I do not take entire credit for these models, I certainly have improved on all the files I found, repainting most of them, so this is a splendid collection of HO scale Tatra trams. If you want any of these files, just PM me with your email address and I'll send them. Graham

Thank you for these Graham. Really appreciated!
I enjoy making trams. Here is an unusual "tiny" tram I made not so long ago that you may be interested in......... Prague Lubricating Tram in 1/250

Okay - I have put all my tram files in a Dropbox folder, and I'll be happy to give anyone access to them. Just PM me with your email address, and I'll do that.
Incidentally, I have also included a tram stop display base with 3D track and pavement and signs.

Ooops!
Er... Just doing some building and noticed that I'd missed something! The KT8 tram files are missing one traction unit. There should be 4:
So to save you messing around, here's a page just of these units - three on the page, which is useful for all the trams anyway, since it's a fiddly bit and spares are always useful. bogies.rar - Sabercat File Hosting Sorry for the error.
