Kpev t-12
This is a model I picked up at bastelbogen-online.de. It is 1/43 and was a pretty straight forward build, the instructions are an expanded 3D hand drawing, so you don't have a build order so you just have to wing it. I found that everything fit well with the exception of the rear lanterns which I just moved up on a the rear deck. There was no stand so I adapted one from a Canon model. I also modified the wheels to shadow boxes so the spokes looked more natural. For some reason when I imported the pictures in Photobox it really screwed up the colors, so take that into consideration, they are not that garish or bright, and my driveway is not green, lol.
They have a few other vintage style train models a couple of vintage White trucks. Beard |

Looks like a really good job.
I have this model and hope to get to it some day. When you say you modified the wheels to shadow boxes all I can figure is that you cut out the areas between the spokes and backed the resulting holes with black card. Is that correct or did you so something else?

Basically you are right. The front of the wheel I backed with cereal box card, though in retrospect another piece of card would work just as well without being as difficult to cut, made the back of the wheel with a dark center instead of white and the built in normally. It worked pretty well. Also I cut some cereal box bulkheads (just circles after all) for the boiler and the front to strengthen them, that really helped by making them less delicate and easy to handle.
This one was the easiest, without much modification, I looked at the others and have them downloaded, so I may go ahead with them at a later date. Beard |

Nice work Burning Beard! I've downloaded some of their other railway models, seeing yours is kind of an inspiration, thanks

Thanks guys, and Bob, if all are designed as well as this one they should be a cinch to build. Just look over the instructions closely and plan your attack.

Interesting little thing. Been playing in Google to find out about the real deal and it appears there was a Polish version of T 12. This one has an interesting shape in the cab door grab irons, handrails, with the circles at top - haven't ever seen that before!
